FINE ART AND DESIGN

In 1991 after a successful career
as a commercial artist, Anglea Trotta Thomas enrolled in Marywood University and
earned a masters degree in art. That would have been enough for the mother of
two young childred, but along the way, she also became the premier toy train
artist in America and one of the few women painters of classic automobile fine
art.
The cornerstone of Angela's art is her ability to bring emotion into
her work. Her paintings allow the viewer to experience the warmth of her
subject by evoking fond memories, creating a bond between art and the viewer.
Angela believes a successful painting must evoke emotion. This is where she
derives her greatest satisfaction.
With these values in mind, Angela has begun creating pelein air oil paintings as well as studio paintings. She has attended many world class workshops and demonstrations, some of which were taught by C. W. Mundy, Kevin MacPherson, Scott Burdick, Quang Ho, David Leffel, Kenn Backhaus and Clayton Beck III.
Using her love of the interplay of light and coor and the unique perspective indicative of her work, Angela has truly captured the beauty and feelings of Charleston. Her paintings bring alive the feeling of being on a journey to another place and time.
