Hai-Ou Hou

Hai-Ou Hou was born in Beijing where she studied painting and ceramics at the prestigious Central Institute of Fine Art and Design.  She accepted a teaching post at the Hubei Fine Art Institute where she taught painting and design. After immigrating to the United States, she received her Master of Fine Arts from Towson University. Hai-Ou's work has been widely published and exhibited both nationally and internationally and hangs in many museum, corporate, and private collections. She is the recepient of numerous fine arts honors and awards. 

Her most recent plein air awards were People's Choice and Second Place in Paint Annapolis 2010, People's Choice in Wayne Art Festival 2010, First Place in Plein Air Easton Choose Three Competition 2010, and Honorable Mention at the Annapolis Dueling Brush Quick Draw Competition.
She also earned the Portraiture Award of Excellence from the Oil Painter's of America 2010 National Juried Exhibition.  She has also participated this yearin three top plein air events at the 12th Annual Laguna Beach Invitational, the Carmel Art Festival, and at Plein Air Easton.
