FINE ART AND DESIGN
Her studies in college lead her to achieving a BFA in Oil Painting. Pamela says of her time in college, “ I chose to express myself in work that was large, colorful and driven by my love of the outdoors. After college Pamela chose to leave her brushes behind and explore an active, outdoor lifestyle. Constantly surrounded by nature she was feeding her “creative well”. In 1992 she took her ability to paint in large format to good use by painting for a local theater company in New Hampshire. It was then that she realize that she needed to share her talent with others.
A very successful mural painter was her next step. From 1994 to the present Pamela’s work can be seen in primarily private residences as well as select corporate environments. She says of her work, “It is with the diversity of my mural projects that I have been able to grow as an artists, always challenged by changing subject matter & locations”.
Her murals are primarily natural landscapes that are enlivened by color and enhanced by both flora and fauna appropriate to their intended environment. The additions of small “hidden treasures” are what Pamela loves best. She says, “ I love to finish my work with the addition of birds, dragonflies, bees, butterflies and other nature’s treasures so that my clients have something special to see once the project is complete.”
Taking her journey another step further in 2003 Pamela traveled to Arizona to work for a client and was truly captivated with the desert and it’s wildlife. Arizona also provided the perfect environment for showing her acrylic works on canvas at the Celebration of Fine Art show in Scottsdale. Creating images on canvas has provided Pamela with an outlet for her passions for nature that she has had all of her life. She expresses her love of nature and her talent in design by painting primarily life size images in both natural settings and with colorful backgrounds. Gathering her inspiration from childhood memories as well as her time spent outdoors while traveling between Arizona and Maine has provided Pamela with an archive of visions that are always waiting to be painted on canvas. Combining her visions with accurate reference allows Pamela to portray her subjects in a manner that is true to her heart and thoughtful in it’s presentation.
Pamela currently resides in her family home in Woolwich, Maine with her two Weimaraners & her partner. She says of her journey, “ After all of these years I feel that I have discovered the importance of the peace and water energy that the state of Maine provides me.” Realizing her dream of opening her own Studio/Gallery has completed her life. In her new gallery named The Creative Turtle she now has the ability to connect with her clients as well as becoming a part of an exciting art community on the coast of Maine. Sharing the spirit and energy of her subjects has made her life complete.
