Painting with clear, deft strokes in an impressionist style, Tony van Hasselt’s artwork tells his visual story with emphasis on strong patterns of light and shade. Be it a rural landscape, a coastal view or scenes from some distant painter’s paradise, the view will share in its excitement of color and form.
Van Hasselt grew up in Holland and worked in display and graphic design prior to arrival in America. Furthering his education in New York, he studied under Frank Reilly of the New York Art Students League.
Van Hasselt’s teaching career began at the Philbrook Museum School in Oklahoma. The artist is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, participated in national shows and has won awards in state and regional exhibits. Van Hasselt’s paintings are included in the Masterworks Bermudiana Collection in Bermuda.
